Speech And Language Therapy
This is provided to adults and children of all ages who have speech and language problems secondary to Autism, ADHD, Mental Retardation, Stammering, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke etc. Swallowing disorders are also managed in speech therapy. Augmentative alternative communication, Oral Placement therapy and PROMPT therapy is also provided here.
At first a detailed assessment is carried out to find more about the problem. A lesson plan is developed according to the needs of the child and therapy is started. Monthly progress assessment is done to monitor progress of the child and this will be communicated with the parent.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy helps the child to improve the independence and functioning of children with disabilities, illnesses, injuries or development delays. Therapists try to determine where the limitations come from and work in the areaof fine motor skills cognitive skills and establishing selfcare routines.Together these skills lead a child to grow into healthy, well-functioning adults. Our Occupational therapist help children develop physical cognitive and sensory skills, so they can perform daily tasks more independently. We also help the child to learn how to cope up in a sensory rich world while playing or enjoying life.
Behaviour Therapy
Behavior Therapy essentially involves bringing about positive changes to behavior through the development of behavior plans and education. Behavior
therapy helps to strengthen positive child behavior and eliminate unwanted behavior like self-injurious activities, attention deficiencies, Hyperactivity etc. In Raaga our Therapists help to reduce destructive or self-injurious behaviors, decrease tantrums and relate effectively to parents, siblings, and peers. Also, to escape repetitive and narrow focus are few things our therapist
can help your kid to thrive on. Through various techniques our therapist work with child and parent to bring about positive changes in the child enhancing the quality of life of the child.
Group Play
Playing is a natural and enjoyable way for children to keep healthy active and happy. Through play children learn about the world and themselves, it improves the cognitive physical social and emotional wellbeing of children. They learn skills they need for study work and relationships such as confidence interaction, social skills, independence coping with challenges, self-esteem etc.
Unfortunately, children under ASD, ADD ADHD disorders lack play, which is natural to a child. Hence in Raaga our team work together to initiate group plays so that the child benefits and learn many social manners and interactions.
Special Education
Children with mild to moderate Intellectual disabilities need a place where they can get individualized instruction in a safe and positive learning environment to maximize their potential. Our Special education Program aims to work on functional academic skills as well as give the child opportunity to learn skills that will eventually help them to live with minimum dependency on others in all walks of life. Without overwhelming the child, we help them to integrate themselves in school and achieve as much as possible independence in various arenas including academic, social and personal.
School Preparedness Program
Children with development delays find it difficult to go into a new an environment, which they are completely unaware of. This is where our school preparedness program comes handy. We try to train the child to attain base skills necessary and start school. Our intention is to make the transition easy and smooth as well as prepare the child ready for classroom environment.
We have both individualized and group programs which focuses on training the child in basic academic skills including essential education, personal management, classroom versality and group learning abilities which is required for effective school integration.
Infant Stimulation Therapy
Early start is an invaluable investment in the future, because the earlier a development delay or disability is identified, the greater impact we can have in ensuring that a child is able to achieve his or her maximum life potential. It begins immediately after the child is assessed with the diagnosis of a
condition or a developmental delay. Infant Stimulation programs are organized programs of enrichment designed to provide developmentally appropriate activities to babies and toddlers who are at risk for a variety of conditions including disorders, illness, other developmental delays etc. that may interfere with their ability ultimately to have a full and productive life. It functions to provide sensory enrichment for Infants and toddlers who are otherwise deprived of it. Trying to supplement
sensory modalities like visual auditory tactile to an infant as a therapeutic intervention to achieve appropriate developmental milestones are the key purpose of the program.
Infant Stimulation support for Infants and toddlers Our Infant toddler Program includes floor time, play therapy, language stimulation techniques and parent education and training.
Early Intervention
Our Early Intervention Program is a comprehensive training program which focuses on children between ages 3-6 years. Soon after the child receives a diagnosis, the treatment choice you make will influence the social intellectual and psychological functions of the child. The earliest, intervention begins, the more it will help your child, because the earliest days in a child’s life plays a pivotal role as
to what person the child will grow into.Under our Early Intervention Program, our team of therapist, whose expertise can ease the concern of the parent by supporting and aiding the child to learn skills,
they will need to survive without hazzle. It has been noticed that kids with development delay or disorders have multiple issues in areas like Speech and Language, Various Psychological conditions,
learning disabilities and major obstacles with daily functional skills. In our Early Intervention Program, apart from Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy or any services provided in our center as per the requirement of the child, we also focus to train the child to learn self-management skills like,
toileting, feeding oneself, daily routine, following instructions in a class room setting and supporting the child in academic difficulties. Through our Early Intervention Program, a child can develop language and communication, socialization, attention, self-help, self-awareness and cognition.
Happiness Program
We deviced this program out of sheer necessity. Few children from our Raaga family who were enrolled in the so called typical normal School could not cope up with the immediate pressure of schooling which included extreme discipline,comprehension, self maintenance, self help (ADL skills) communication and advanced social skills
Since it was their first time experience they needed a little more help assistance and time to grow in a whole lot of arenas in order to start schooling along with children who have developed age appropriately.
In the happiness program we try to help children to learn ADL skills, to understand the need to follow instructions of the class teacher, a little help to learn Academics, explore their artistic skills etc but without frustration and causing stress to them. We intent to make them realise that learning is a happy process, with this purpose in mind, we named this program as a “Happiness program”
Although we like you to keep in mind that this is not an academic or curriculum based program or an alternative to schooling. This is a place where children will get an experience similar to the school in structure as well as a place to understand without pressure what they are expected to do in a school environment.
In order to achieve this we have included sessions of basic Academics, learning through various art forms like pupperty worksops, clay art, visiting various places and learning from there.
Arranging to learn new skills like swimming, sports, arts craft etc through which we may discover the true interest and talent of the children beyond conventional learning from a school.
This could also be a first step to identify the skills of a child which may help them to master it and help the child to build a future on it.
